Slow down. Slow down. Slow down. Happiness is trying to catch us.

Slow down. Slow down. Slow down. Stop. Breathe.

Allow my mind to settle.

Feel my feet on the ground.

Come into my body.

Feel the slight ache in my chest.

Notice the low-grade anxiety and adrenalin that has been driving me most of the week. Driving me to be more productive. To get through my to-do list. To get back to everyone as quickly as possible. To make sure I don’t let anybody down, disappoint them. To keep as many balls in the air as possible. To be the perfect mum, partner, dog owner, friend, colleague… don’t forget anyone! Except maybe me.

Slow down. Slow down. Slow down. Happiness is trying to catch us.

Happiness is already here. When I stop. When I notice. When I stand with my feet on the grass. The sun on my back. Listen to the birds. Notice the trees, the flowers. When I smile. When I practice self-compassion, self-care, self-love. When I remember all I have to feel grateful for. When I acknowledge I am enough and I have done enough. When I let love in, especially my own. When I connect, with myself and with those who I love and feel loved by. When I slow down.

My wish for us all this week is “slow down, happiness is trying to catch you”.

May we allow it.

With great warmth

Jo
