The more I practice self-compassion, the more I have come to value myself in a deep way.
This has lead to choices that support my wellbeing and growth in the long term. Self-criticism may in a distorted way motivate me in the short term, and it always has the after burn of feeling less connected to myself, less cared for. With self-compassion I am growing, thriving and flourishing and I think this is because self-compassion’s driving force is love not fear. It works.
